Manchester Central has secured contracts with a number retail brands including SPAR and Co-op. The venue said that after attracting a host of “big name clients” it has seen a 43% increase in average spend on retail events.
The company has also reported that it has had increased interest from in-house and agency event planners looking to make use of its flexible spaces for meetings, conferences and gala dinners.
Yvonne Fennell, SPAR UK retail development manager, said: “In October, SPAR is celebrating its 60th anniversary of convenience retailing in the UK at Manchester Central. We chose this iconic venue because we wanted somewhere impressive but where all 1,800 guests could easily travel to from across the UK.
“We needed a venue that offered scale, excitement and the ability to make this our biggest and best event in the history of our business. Manchester Central provides just that and we’re really looking forward to the party!”
Shaun Hinds, CEO of Manchester Central, commented: “As retail clients continue to push the boundaries of what can be delivered within their event space, versatility is high on the priority list when looking for the perfect venue.”
Additionally, the company has reported that 80% of retail clients who hosted events at Manchester Central in the last financial year “are returning in FY18 due to their success”.
