Liverpool Convention Bureau has appointed a specialist ambassadors manager to head up the newly launched Club Liverpool, a new brand for the city’s event ambassador programme.
Jane Fawley (pictured) will lead the enhanced ambassadors’ programme for the city and will oversee the full cycle, from recruiting ambassadors to the programme, to liaising with the bureau and ACC Liverpool venue team, ensuring members are fully supported to attract large conferences.
Fawley joins a six-strong team at LCB, and brings experience from senior positions including marketing director at Liverpool Daily Post and Echo, where she had responsibility for events and exhibitions, and head of market development for Trinity Mirror Regionals.
Kate Currie, convention bureau manager, said: “While we have had an ambassadors’ programme for some years, it needs someone with the right experience and creativity to take it to the next level. In Jane, I’m confident we’ve found the ideal candidate. She knows the industry and, importantly, the city region very well and has already hit the ground running with the recent official launch of Club Liverpool.”
Kerrin MacPhie, director of sales at ACC Liverpool, which also sponsors the programme, added: “We have worked closely with our existing ambassadors to attract successful international conferences. Having a dedicated resource and opening our new exhibition centre in September – which will enable us to host more large scale international events – will boost our opportunities even further.”
