Live Experience is inviting event professionals to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the biggest events from 2012 as part of its seminar programme that runs alongside Confex.
The co-located shows will take place at Excel from 19 to 21 March.
UBM Live rebranded its International Outdoor Event Expo (IOEX) to Live Experience as part of plans to broaden the event’s direction in 2013.
The Live Experience programme will be presented in two theatres; the Live Experience Theatre and the Brand Activation Arena. The sports industry will be represented in the Live Experience Theatre with keynote speaker Piers Shepperd, director at Wonder Works and former technical director for the London 2012 opening ceremony, sharing his insights about ‘the greatest show on Earth’.
Specifically, he will talk about how to ensure success by managing unknowns, scaling up to deliver a mega production and how to get the best out of your contractors.
Arena Group will also speak about the temporary overlay it provided for the London 2012 beach volleyball event.
“The exhibition looks at all aspects of live event production from contingency planning to the latest technology and from the place of live events in the third sector to looking at the flagship productions on the horizon for 2014,” said Live Experience and International Confex event director James Samuel. “The panels of experts and high profile keynote speaker presentations reflect the sensational year that the industry has just seen to ensure that we are working together to capitalise on the legacy.”
