Exhibition industry veteran David Wilkins has bought a stake in wedding show organiser Foxglove Events.
Wilkins has 20 years’ experience in event and trade show management and was behind Footwear UK, which rebranded to Moda and was run by ITE Group at The NEC last month.
Wilkins was also MD of Insight Exhibitions (formerly Dew Events) and ran the Sandwich and Snack Show in Paris, which was acquired by Reed Expositions in 2008.
“Foxglove really understands what its clients need and expect and that guides all of its decisions,” Wilkins claimed. “These will continue to be our guiding principles as we move forward together to invest in the growth of the business.”
Foxglove was founded by Sue Maddix and Del Fasoranti in 2003 with the launch of the twice-annual Designer Wedding Show at Battersea. It also runs Modern Bride, which launched at Excel London last year and will be held again from 4 to 6 November.
Maddix said Wilkins’ experience and financial contribution will enable the company to expand its portfolio and launch new wedding show editions, as well as take-up opportunities in other industries.
“We’re a small company, so it’s great to have someone of David’s experience on-board to lead new projects and have an active role at a senior level,” she told EN. “We hope to run more Modern Bride shows over the next couple of years, although we’re looking to establish a much bigger show at Excel first.
“We also have thoughts for shows in other sectors.”
