Commercial organisations and exhibitors have, for the first time, been offered the freedom of the seminar room at next year’s Health Informatics Congress.
The event, which is an annual exhibition and conference looking at how IT assists the healthcare sector, is welcoming speaker submissions from exhibitors and companies. The proviso must be that any presentations must be aligned to the themes of quality, innovation and productivity.
Sales manager of organiser Citadel Events, Dennis Wheatley, tells exhibitionnews.co.uk: “We wanted to offer this opportunity as we’d like to see a truly cohesive event that brings academia and commercial companies together for the health informatics community”.
All panel of industry experts and peers will vet presentations to preclude companies simply conducting a sales pitch at the podium, says Wheatley who claims the initiative has not been used as an incentive in the organiser’s marketing pitches, “as before the initiative was announced, nearly 80 per cent of the stand space had been taken”.
The Health Informatics Congress takes place at the ICC Birmingham, 27 – 29 April 2010.
