The Executive Hire Show has held a special meeting for 85 exhibitors and their guests to reveal plans for its seventh annual event and to confirm that stands are nearly sold out.
The show will take place at Ricoh Arena in Coventry from 6 to 7 February 2013 and will celebrate 40 years of hire shows, starting with the Hirex event in Syon Park in February 1973. The organiser held a ‘kick-off’ meeting on 19 September to announce details of the next edition, and to get exhibitor feedback on issues such as pushing back opening times to 9am and excluding non-exhibitor suppliers from the halls until after midday on its second day.
This year’s show attracted 1,752 visitors, 91 per cent of which were independent hirers. The organiser is looking to increase the number of European visitors at its next edition.
The Executive Hire Show said 110 exhibitors were booked in so far, leaving two stands to sell across its main hall. Of these, 32 companies have rebooked for their seventh edition including Bomag, Duro, Metabo, Thwaites, SDMO and Volvo, which has increased its stand space.
The trade show will also see the return of the Top Tier section for light equipment and products following its debut last year, which was visited by 90 per cent of attendees.
The organiser said its next step is to ramp up visitor promotion initiatives including visits to key buyers across the country. This year’s show is overseen by Executive Hire Show director Robert Aplin, supported by new events and publishing assistant Emma Sandy and new group commercial manager Craig Donovan, who has replaced Steve McKenzie.
The Ricoh Arena will shortly host the Engineering Design Show, which claims to have completely sold out its exhibition space for its show on 10-11 October.
