Tourism exhibition Excursions 2014 has claimed record visitor numbers for its recent show.
The exhibition, which celebrated its 10th edition at Alexandra Palace, on 25 January, has claimed 1,343 visitors up by more than 30 per cent on last year’s show. The show was first held in 1977.
The show moved into the venue’s Great Hall to accommodate more than 260 exhibitors.
“We have always been confident of expanding the show into the Great Hall and this has now been proved with record numbers and excellent feedback from visitors, the trade press and exhibitors alike,” said Nigel Smith, marketing and communications director at Tourism South East.
“In an age when lots of information can be found online, Excursions has demonstrated that there is still a strong demand for suppliers and buyers to meet face-to-face to do business. I would like to thank our co-organiser, Group Travel Organiser magazine and partners London & Partners and VisitEngland for making Excursions 2014 such a great success.”
Excursions is co-organised by Tourism South East and Group Travel Organiser magazine, and works in partnership with London & Partners and VisitEngland. Excursions 2015 will be held on Saturday 24 January at Alexandra Palace.
