Eclipse raises almost £6k for Meeting Needs

by Nicola Macdonald

Eclipse, one of Meeting Needs’ newest charity partners, has raised nearly £6,000 for the meetings and events charity.

A team of ten from the creative event production company took part in the Dulux Trade Revolution cycle ride last weekend.

Starting in London, the 300km ride is held over two days, with an overnight in a tent, and is a complete 360-degree around London. Over 2,500 riders take part.

Robin Purslow, MD of Eclipse, and a member of the cycling team, said: “We are delighted to be raising funds for Meeting Needs, the meeting and event industry’s own charity. Meeting Needs helped us secure our places on the ride and I’m so pleased that the funds we have raised may help support two projects this year. I’d like to thank the Eclipse team of riders and all the many people that supported them with donations.”

Meeting Needs works with its charity partners in various fundraising initiatives to support over thirty projects each year. Many of these are small charities that find it difficult to gain funding from mainstream sources.

Jennifer Jenkins, chair of Meeting Needs, added: “We are truly delighted by this ‘home-grown’ effort by Robin and the Eclipse team. Meeting Needs was set up fourteen years ago to channel the MICE industry’s fundraising efforts to worthy causes and to support people less fortunate than ourselves. This achievement typifies the kind of spirit that we know exists within our industry.”

Robin’s VirginMoneyGiving site will be open for a few more days if you would like to show your appreciation, make a donation and help top the £6,000 mark.
