De Vere Hotels has announced that it will be celebrating ‘Veganuary’ throughout January 2019 with its range of vegan menu options.
Jon-Paul Reed, group food and beverage director, commented: “Vegan menu options are becoming increasingly popular as delegates seek nutritious dishes that, in many cases, have less impact on the environment. With ‘Veganuary’ or ‘vegan January’, growing in popularity, we expect to see more demand for vegan dishes at conferences and meetings this January.
“At De Vere as part of our Smart Space meetings offer, we provide healthy, nutritious menu options for delegates, created in consultation with our Group Nutritionist, Wendy Martinson MBE. Vegan dishes such as; butternut squash red Thai curry with spinach and chickpeas; chargrilled fennel, smoked tofu, beef steak tomato and nut-free pesto; and okra and corn Gumbo with mixed beans, coriander and soya beans, are just a few of the lunch buffet options available.
“All the dishes on our menus are designed to be nutritionally balanced to ensure that delegates are energised and remain focussed throughout the day. Whether delegates are vegan or not, we expect to see more people experimenting with their breakfast and lunch choices and embracing plant-based dishes in 2019.”
