De Boer has secured an extended contract to supply the Farnborough International Airshow until 2016.
The contractor has been in charge of the event’s temporary exhibition venue space since 1996 and was already contracted for 2012, but has now been named exclusive supplier again in 2014 and 2016. The biennial event is De Boer’s largest contract and includes over 3,600 tonnes of equipment and total floor space of more than 90,000sqm.
“De Boer is immensely proud of the part it has played at successive airshows since 1996,” company MD Peter Spruce said. “We see it as a tremendous tribute to the hard work, commitment and expertise of our team – and to our superb working relationship with Farnborough International – that we have now been awarded a contract until at least 2016.”
Farnborough International CEO Shaun Ormrod said having quality and depth in supplier relationships was key to delivering a stellar event.
“Looking ahead to the next Farnborough show we will have the challenge of staging an event around the same time as the London Olympics,” he continued. “The better the relationship you have with your key suppliers, the more robust your planning is to be able to cope with challenges such as the Olympic Games.”
Last year, Farnborough announced any supplier to its FIVE site would need Event Supplier and Services Association membership.
