DB Systems has gained Safe Contractor accreditation. The Safe Contractor scheme is run and assessed by the Alcumus Group, who provide technology-led, compliance risk management certification and accreditation supporting companies in the UK, and abroad, comply with the latest legislation, and create the safest possible working environments.
Mark Danvers, DB Systems logistics and compliance director, commented: “We take health and safety very seriously, it’s not just another box we tick, but an integral part of everything we do. From day one, DB Systems have always strived to be not only the most technologically innovative and competitive AV supplier in the events industry but also the most responsible.”
The process for achieving the Safe Contractor certification is rigorous. Daily processes were audited and documents scrutinised and DB System passed. “By satisfying their criteria, we know we are working to a high standard,” Danvers said.
Danvers said the benefits of this accreditation is twofold. “Firstly, the message to our staff and anybody wishing to work with DB Systems — your welfare is our top priority. We believe that everyone has the right to feel safe at work.
“Secondly, but of equal importance, it reassures our clients that we give on-site safety the utmost level of importance, that we absolutely do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of our staff and those around us.”
DB Systems comprises three divisions: DB AV & IT rental, DB Event Networks and the digital division DBpixelhouse. In addition to becoming a Safe Contractor, the company holds ISO20121, ISO14001, and ISO9001 management system standards, and have a ‘zero to landfill’ policy at its headquarters in Tewkesbury.
