Events industry website supplier ASP has stepped up to the crease to support charity cricket match Sticky Wicket for 2015.
Reigning champions UBM will defend their title when ASP Sticky Wicket returns to Regents Park on 22 July.
Organisers, venue staff and suppliers from the events and exhibition industries are putting in overtime at the cricket nets in the lead-up to the day, which supports sports charity The Lord’s Taverners.
ASP chief executive Arran Coole said the day was a rare chance for event professionals to get out from under venue lights and enjoy some sunshine.
“More importantly it’s a chance for the industry to band together and support a good cause.
“We decided to increase our involvement this year to celebrate the industry we love and we’d like to encourage everyone involved in events and exhibitions to grab a wristband and join us in Regents Park if they can. And if not, join us for the tales of glory and woe over a drink at the after-party,” Coole said.
Proceeds from this year’s event will go towards paying for a 16-seat minibus for Linden Lodge School, a sensory and physical college that supports young people from across south east England.
The bus will help students attend off-campus activities, as well as the school’s summer holiday programme.
As headline sponsor ASP will add a splash of orange to the day, from the field to the after-party.
ASP Sticky Wicket will be held at The Hub, Regent’s Park, on July 22, from 10am. Spectator wristbands can be purchased for £25 on the day.
An after-party will be held at Edinboro Castle, Mornington Crescent, from 6pm.
