Clarion has postponed the 2014 launch of Security Technology Live due to the “significant challenges” a competitor event has created for exhibitors.
The dedicated installer event, organised by Clarion, was due to take place at The NEC on 13-15 May, four months ahead of the previously scheduled Security Essen 2014 in Germany on 23-26 September. Security Essenwill celebrate its 40th year in 2014.
“Following consultation with key industry stakeholders we have taken the decision to postpone Security Technology Live 2014,” said a statement on the show website.
“During the last 12 months we have received overwhelming support for our vision of a dedicated security installer event at The NEC.
“However the prospect of adding another event to the calendar in a year in which the European industry is already focused on their participation at Security Essen has created significant challenges for a number of our current and potential exhibitors, and as a result we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the first edition of Security Technology Live until 2015.”
In 2013, Clarion launched the security event within 24 hours of UBM Live announcing that it was moving its own security show from the NEC to London’s Excel.
