Clarion Events has announced the launch of Big Screen, a new exhibition aimed at movie fans and to be staged in collaboration with Empire film magazine.
Clarion and Bauer Media (BM), owners of Empire, will host the inaugural Big Screen at The O2 in London on the 12 to 14 August this year.
The announcement follows the recent appointment of Stuart Williams to the newly-created role of MD of live events and strategic partnerships at BM.
“Live events is a key area of growth for us and Williams’ role was created especially to accelerate our ambitions in this market via our influential entertainment brands. This is a new direction for us and I am confident Big Screen will be a compelling addition to the Empire brand,” said BM CEO, Paul Keenan.
Big Screen aims to offer visitors an opportunity to gain behind-the-scenes insight into the world of entertainment and to mix with the creators of movies and TV shows. There will also be preview screenings of upcoming films, autograph opportunities and industry-related exhibitor stalls.
This news follows the cancellation of the Entertainment Media Show exhibition, which EN reported last week.
