The audience for the combined shows reached 103,000 (pending audit), on 12-16 June at The NEC in Birmingham, surpassing last year’s total of 94,232.
“We are absolutely delighted with the increase in gate,” said BBC Haymarket Exhibitions MD Laura Biggs. “It really helps with the success of the show and how the exhibitors trade – which of course is fundamental to the next show’s planning.”
Among the highlights of this year’s BBC Gardeners’ World Live was its celebrity line-up including Monty Don, Joe Swift, Carol Klein and Diarmuid Gavin. The Royal Horticultural Society judges presented 44 gold medals, 42 silver gilts, 27 silver and six bronze medals to the Show Gardens, Birmingham Borders and floral exhibitors in the RHS Flower Show Birmingham, which takes place as part of the BBC Gardeners’ World Live event.
The new 1,400 seat Supertheatre at the venue also hosted editions of The Great British Bake Off, MasterChef and Saturday Kitchen during the BBC Good Food Show Summer.
The next Good Food Show event takes place in Scotland on 18-20 October at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC).
