Kelly Baker will take over as president of the International Special Events Society (ISES) UK Chapter on 1 July.
Baker (pictured), sales and marketing director of Well Dressed Tables & Spaceworks (part of Arena Group), has been a board member of ISES for the past five years.
“I am delighted to be taking over presidency of the UK chapter at this time,” said Baker. “Over the last few years, the association has repositioned itself as a leader in the creative industries and has become one of the most proactive, intelligent and forward thinking associations in the UK events industry.”
Baker will take over from outgoing president Jane Hague, of Excel London.
“I can’t thank Jane and the outgoing board enough for their hard work and dedication to ISES over the past 12 months,” Baker said.
The current board is the UK chapter’s largest to date, with 18 members. The board is adding Peter Kerwood as director of marketing and communications, Jacqui Partridge as director of programmes, Jan Booth as director of exhibitions, Graham Brown as head of PR, and Mary Baird Wilcox as director of finance.
“We are in great shape for the new board and continue to grow membership and deliver key initiatives that support and represent the creative events industry,” Baker adds.
The organisation has also recently appointed Lucie Hone as operations manager.
