Swan Events Ltd, the organiser of Autumn Coin-op Show (ACOS 2017), has confirmed that the event will open on 11-12 October at Chelsea Football Club. This is the fourth edition of the event to be held at the venue in West London.
Speaking to EN, Karen Cooke, head of Swan Events, explained that the UK coin-op and amusements industry has held its main international January show in West London for more than 70 years and has a great affection for this part of London.
“When we started the Autumn Coin-Op Show we were looking for a small venue with good facilities so Chelsea Football Club fitted the bill perfectly,” she said.
The UK’s largest show for the amusements and attractions sector is EAG International & VAE, held at Excel London in January. This is where many equipment purchases are made for the forthcoming season.
ACOS was launched in 2014 in response to requests from companies seeking an end of season event, prior to the large shows in the New Year.
Cooke told EN said that this year the show has signed several new exhibitors, “all with a strong presence in this sector”.
“This needs to be viewed in context as ACOS is a UK focused show and is already attracting the key manufacturers, operators and site owners. The strength of the show is not so much in its size, as in the networking and business opportunities it creates,” Cooke explained.
The organiser said that the Autumn show allows manufacturers to gauge reactions and elicit feedback on products, prior to their launch in January.
Cooke told EN that in its third year running, the 2016 event saw an increase in exhibitor numbers. “Last year the show attracted 600 visitors, a year on year increase, and 34 exhibiting companies,” she said.
“ACOS was conceived and is produced by Swan Events Ltd. We have a small and very experienced team of our own, complemented with specialist suppliers such as Event Exhibition Services and Sutherland Smith,” Cooke concluded.
